In honor of International Women’s Day, TerraClear would like to acknowledge and thank the 16 women who work here for pouring their hearts and minds into our company. We would not be producing quality filters, impacting communities, and changing lives without their hard work. Each of them is an essential part in making TerraClear a successful company.
The production line employs three women dedicated to making filters look professional and function correctly. They move them through each of the production stages, helping test every filter, and carefully packing each set for final delivery.
The office staff include two women who hold together all of the responsibilities keeping systems in check and bringing order to accounting and finances. They import shipments, interface with government offices, field calls, and handle a range of unexpected challenges every day.
Our cook and cleaner is one of our longest employed staff. She shops for and feeds 20+ employees each day for lunch, making the best spicy ginger sauce for fish around!
The lab and quality control department is staffed by three women whose attention to detail keeps our filters safe from microbes and free of imperfections. They work both inside the laboratory and on the production floor.
Three women are part of the sales team that travels from village to village educating on the importance of clean water and promoting our filters. Another two have traveling routes in territories covering over 30 villages. They sell individually or collect payments from families in a territory over a six month period, making the filters more affordable. These women spend days away from home to provide a better life for themselves and for our customers.
Our corporate social responsibility team, TerraKids, has two local staff women and two volunteer foreigners working together to bring elementary school lessons on clean water, hygiene, and children’s rights and safety. These women travel long distances to bring filters, fun, and hope to village elementary schools.
We are deeply impressed with and grateful for each of the women who work for TerraClear. Many have had a limited opportunity for formal education, but have persevered to build confidence and proficiency in their professional lives. Their stable, steady reliability makes many of them the key wage earners for their families – providing medical care and education for their children, improving their homes, and generally increasing their family’s standard of living. It has been a privilege to know these women over the years. They have become good friends and the solid core of our TerraClear family.
Thank you!
