The TerraKids Team recently received permission from education officials to host two Teacher Training Workshops in August 2021. We are grateful that the training is scheduled just before schools open for the new school year. This is a wonderful opportunity to share materials and techniques for teachers to use immediately as the new school year begins!
Our team has been busy preparing presentations and materials to equip teachers to help students better understand the importance of good hygiene, safe touch and saying ‘no’ to drugs. We also plan to develop teachers’ understanding of child safety so that they are better able to identify those students who may require assistance and intervention.
We are planning to host Teacher Training Workshops in two different districts. The first one will be held in Bachieng District with nearly 50 teachers and education officials invited. The second workshop will be held a week later in Pathoumphone District with nearly 80 teachers, education officials and village leaders invited.
At the end of the 2-day training session, each school will receive a thumb-drive of helpful teaching resources and teachers will receive a hard copy of the workshop materials and a certificate to mark their completion of training.
This is our second opportunity to host a Teacher Training event such as this. Last year, we received permission to host a similar 2-day event and it was very much appreciated. We are thankful for the financial support of friends of TerraClear who make these workshops possible.
