TerraCare is happy to announce that we have reached our first milestone: 10,000 subsidized filters in the homes of the needy throughout the 4 southern provinces of Laos! Amazing! That is over 50,000 people who now have clean drinking water IN THEIR OWN HOMES!!!!
Since October 2020, TerraCare has been working diligently, one house at a time, one family at a time, to identify poor families and train them about the need for clean drinking water. Each family made their own contribution of 50,000 LAK (originally about USD$5) and agreed to participate in 5 more trainings on clean water, handwashing, and the dangers of open defecation over the next 5 months. 10,000 families have participated and now have ceramic water filters in their homes!
The balance of the cost of each filter is donated by caring individuals and organizations. Shout out to all of you who have helped make clean water a reality for over 50,000 people!!!
